Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Man with Van Leaves Green in respect of our financial year ending 31 December and sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise that modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights, and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Man with Van Leaves Green provides transport, removals and related services. Our activities rely on a combination of directly engaged workers, subcontracted drivers and labour, and a range of suppliers providing vehicles, fuel, equipment, uniforms and ancillary services. We acknowledge that elements of the logistics and transport sector can be vulnerable to labour exploitation, especially where subcontracting and temporary labour are involved. As such, we are committed to understanding, monitoring and reducing the risks of modern slavery in every part of our operations and supply chain.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
We operate a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, human trafficking and any form of servitude. This policy applies to everyone who works for or with Man with Van Leaves Green, including employees, subcontractors, agency staff, temporary workers and suppliers. We will terminate relationships with any third party found to be involved in modern slavery or to be in serious breach of our standards. Our expectations regarding ethical conduct and respect for human rights are communicated clearly through our internal policies and supplier requirements.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We are committed to working only with suppliers and subcontractors who share our values. As part of our due diligence process, we assess new suppliers on their labour practices, working conditions and compliance with relevant laws. We expect suppliers to operate fair recruitment processes, ensure that workers are free to leave their employment, pay wages at or above the legal minimum, and provide safe and respectable working conditions. Suppliers are required to confirm that they do not use forced, compulsory or trafficked labour and that they do not tolerate abusive or exploitative behaviour in their own operations or sub-supply chains.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
To support our zero-tolerance approach, we may conduct audits or assessments of selected suppliers, particularly where we identify higher risk, such as in labour provision or subcontracted services. These audits may include reviewing documentation relating to right-to-work checks, contracts, working hours and pay, as well as discussions with management and, where appropriate, workers. Where non-compliance or areas of concern are identified, we will work with suppliers to implement timely corrective actions. If remediation is not possible or if serious breaches persist, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage anyone working for or with Man with Van Leaves Green, as well as members of the public, to raise concerns about any suspected instance of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business. Concerns can be raised in writing or verbally to management or through our internal reporting routes. Reports will be treated seriously and handled sensitively, and we will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith. Where appropriate, concerns will be escalated to external authorities and we will cooperate fully with any investigations.
Training and Awareness
We aim to raise awareness of modern slavery risks among our management, employees and those involved in procurement and supplier management. Training and guidance focus on identifying signs of exploitation, understanding our policies and procedures, and knowing how to report concerns. We seek to embed respect for human rights into our everyday decision-making, from selecting suppliers to planning staffing and subcontracting arrangements.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Man with Van Leaves Green recognises that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process. We are committed to continuous improvement in the way we assess and manage risk, engage with suppliers, and support those who may be vulnerable to exploitation. This statement and our associated policies and procedures are reviewed annually by senior management to ensure they remain effective, up to date with legal and regulatory requirements, and reflective of best practice. We will update this statement as necessary to reflect the progress we make and any significant changes to our operations or supply chains.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Leaves Green and will be reviewed and published on an annual basis.
